Deepa Panchamia is a Textile Artist | Designer-Maker specializing in one-off, handmade architectural and sculptural textiles for site-specific commissions, interior spaces and exhibitions across the UK and Internationally.

She is currently working on a commission for Peter Marino Architects, creating a pair of layered gold pleated panels for the Louis Vuitton showroom in Mayfair, London. Prior to this, Deepa completed a large-scale commission for interior design company Contemporanea London, creating a series of wall sculptures for a beach house in the Caribbean Island, Mustique. Inspired by the sea’s texture and wave motion, her sculptures encompass entire wall areas throughout the internal space.

Her work has been exhibited at Art and Design venues in England and Europe including the Business Design Centre, London; Lakeside Art Centre, Nottingham; Old Truman Brewery, London; Fashion and Textile Museum, London; Fiskars Gallery, Finland; 100% Design at Earls Court, London; Rich Mix Galllery, London and Coricama Centre, Italy.

She has received several awards including Individual Grants from the Arts Council, England; an International Artist Residency in Fiskars, Finland and the Premio Valcellina Award, Italy for Fibre Art.

Alongside this, Deepa Panchamia teaches professional courses in computer-aided-design at the Fashion and Textile Museum, London and is a visiting lecturer to creative institutions and universities throughout England.

Deepa set up her art practice in 2004, after graduating with a First Class Honours degree in Decorative Arts, with a specialism in constructed textiles. Her studio is based in Southwark, London SE1.
